Kelly visited Leatherhead Trinity School and Nursery to deliver her My Maths Story assembly.
“Kelly was excellent despite it being her first time delivering a school assembly,” said Elizabeth Killin, Headteacher at Leatherhead Trinity School.
Delivering our My Maths Story assembly and supporting our Maths in the Real World class session allows our corporate volunteers to demonstrate and develop a wide range of skills. During the school year 2022/2023 92% of our volunteers felt that through participating in the programme they were able to develop their presentation skills and 91% said they had developed their self confidence*.
Through our corporate volunteering programme and the support we provide, our volunteers feel well prepared to deliver our activities. 97% of volunteers said they felt a sense of achievement after taking part.
Kelly said, “learning about what language to use when delivering the assembly to children was most helpful”.
In partnership, Experian and National Numeracy are working together to empower under-served communities across the UK with number confidence, as a crucial foundation of financial health. Together we are inspiring children and adults to see the value of everyday maths, and shining a light on improved numeracy for financial wellbeing both early on and throughout our lives. Experian is also a Lead Supporter of National Numeracy Day.
Well done to Kelly and thank you to all the volunteers who visited schools in April.
